Squanto
Squanto was part of the Native American tribe Patuxet. He was very important in the survival of the pilgrims. After the first winter when the pilgrims were barely hanging on Squanto taught the pilgrims how to grow corn, fertilize crops, and catch fish and ells. With out his help the pilgrims would not have been able to survive another harsh winter. He later died of what the indians called indian fever. He begged the pilgrims to pray for him that he might go to heaven and have eternal rest with their god. He was a crucial part of the survival at Plymouth, without him the colonists survival chances would have been a lot lower.
